All-American Soap Box Derby Race. Also houses a
museum of soap box derby cars dating back to 1935.
Six Flags World of Adventure -
Is a marine life park, a water park and a thrill park with more than 100 rides and attractions, including stage shows,
water rides, turtle beach
for younger children, and restaurants.
The marine park features Shamu - the killer whale, a shark encounter, and the dolphin cove.

Dover Lake Water Park
- Seven water slides, two intertube rides, wave pool, softball diamonds, sand volleyball

- 33,000 acres of park land along a 22-mile section of the
Cuyahoga River. Year-round activities include picnicking, hiking, bicycling,

hiking, bicycling, sledding, skating, nature centers and an arboretum.

Cedar Point - home of 14 roller
coasters, more than any other park on the planet. In 2000, Cedar Point opened
Millennium Force, which at 310 feet, is the tallest roller coaster in the world.

Raptor, and hundreds of other rides, shows and attractions.
Cleveland Browns
Football - Cleveland's beloved NFL team returned as an expansion team

Center - summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra, concert events include,

Akron Art Museum -

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens -
65-room Tudor "castle" built by the Seiberling family, founders of Goodyear Tire
& Rubber Company. Tours of the home and gardens are conducted year-round.
There are also many special events held at the mansion.
Hower House - 28-room Italianate-style mansion built
in 1871 for the family of industrialist John Henry Hower. Tours available
year-round.
John Brown Homestead
- Museum and Home of abolitionist John Brown built in 1830. Tours available
February thru December.
Simon Perkins
Stone Mansion - Greek Revival mansion and museum built in 1837. Tours
available February thru December.
Akron Zoo - 150 varieties of birds,
mammals and reptiles. Ohio Farmyard exhibit especially nice for younger
children.
Hale Farm and Village
- Living history museum including 21 restored homes and buildings from the
1800s. Costumed guides take visitors on a tour of a sawmill, smokehouse,
blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and period homes. Open year-round.
Pro Football Hall of
Fame - since its opening on Sept. 7, 1963,
the Pro Football Hall of Fame has been expanding. The 5 building, 82,307 square
foot complex houses several museums, a theater, library, and gift shop.
McKinley Museum and National Memorial
- Memorial rotunda is the resting place of the 25th U.S. President,
William McKinley. Grounds include gardens, museums and the McKinley Library.
Open year-round.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - dedicated to the history and development of Rock &
Roll music, the 150,000 square foot museum houses permanent and special
temporary exhibits, as well as several theaters and a gift shop.
Great
Lakes Science Center - with over 350 interactive exhibits and a
six-story OMNIMAX theater, the science center is a fascinating place for
visitors to explore the wonders of science and technology.
Cleveland Museum of
Art - founded in 1916 and including 70 galleries, recent traveling
exhibits include Pharaohs (treasures and artifacts from Egyptian tombs), Faberge
in America (included many of the famous Faberge eggs), and The Vatican Treasures
(many of the pieces dating back to the sixth century). Open year-round.
Cleveland Museum
of Natural History - Ohio’s largest and oldest natural history museum
houses many displays including prehistoric animals, rocks and gems, and a
planetarium.
Cleveland
Orchestra - founded in 1918, present director Christoph Von Dohnanyi.
Past directors included the famous Lorin Maazel and George Szell. Summer
performances are held at the Blossom Music Center. The remainder of the year,
performances are held in Severance Hall.
Playhouse Square -
encompasses four theaters, the Palace, the State, the Ohio, and the Allen,
representing a wide range of entertainment.
Cleveland Zoological Park and
Rainforest - founded in 1882 and encompassing 165 acres, the
Cleveland Zoo is one of the largest urban zoos in the country. Over 400 species
are exhibited. The Rainforest showcases the diverse plant and animal life of our
diminishing rainforest ecosystems.
